airbag light

hello all. Ok, I should have asked what I should have done BEFORE I removed my driver seat, but here we are. The light is on. I think maybe I should have disconnected the battery first. Anyways, any suggestions? I really don't want to go to a dealer who will charge my big bucks to plug their system analizer then reset the airbag light. thanks.

no choice. happened to me. You must go to the dealer or find someone with the machine to reset the light.
They should do it for free, and yes, you need to disconnect the battery before you unplug the seats.

you have two options
a) go to a dealer
b) buy a Durametric

One other option...

There is a registry on Renntech.org for people who have either a PIWIS, PST2 or Durametric who are willing to turn off the airbag light if you are in the neighborhood.

Regards, Maurice.

There's actually two other options...

• Cut yourself a little piece of black electrical tape and put it over that stupid lamp.

• Two screws and fifteen minutes will also give you access to the bulb in the back of the cluster. Pull it.

Then, when you do have to take your car in for some reason or another, ask them to clear the error code.

This way, you don't have to have an idiot light glaring at you for an extended period of time.

Garage
I would also contact your local PCA and see if they could lend a hand.
