trans. fill plug

can i trade the 16MM triple-square anti tamper socket type filler plug with a conventional (hex head) type plug? and why did porsche design such an exclusionary event? do they think it is proprietory, or do they think it will discourage the DIY's of the world?

Probably discouragement, us 'S' folks have a simple matching set of hex ones, they figured it was safe for us to change our fluid...just kidding...who knows what they were thinking when they made the models different. Call your Porsche parts department and see if they upgraded that to something more simple. I looked in the KATALOG and didn't see an upgrade. Just changed my fluid on my 'S' at 54k miles, I figure I probably won't ever do it again.
