Location is a huge factor. I was paying the same rate for my Boxster and VW GTI in Alaska. Moving to Baltimore doubled my premiums. Switched to USAA and it dropped but still quite a bit more than Alaska. I have a clean record too.

As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" is true. Cheaper is not always better, especially with insurance. Please factor in financial stability of company, what this means to you is if you're involved in a claim they will pay. Availability of agent in time of need, huge multi-line policy discounts up to 32%, and claims response are big ones for me. That's why I went with Nationwide. Fortune 100 company, 80 billion in reserves, been around for 80 some odd years, and a local, competent agent. Just my $.02.

USAA changed their eligibility requirements about fifteen months ago. If you have an honorable discharge from any time period you're now eligible. I switched and lowered my rates by about 50%.

you would think it's pretty barren but I've had near misses with some moose. They make a deer look like a little dog. There are about 500 moose hits on the Park's highway between Fairbanks and Anchorage every year.
