I'm not familiar with it but it does look good.

IMHO It's a bit much for a non-S though.

I would expect to sell my "S" with better options and fewer miles for less. Definitely over-priced.

That's what I'm thinking too - looks pretty clean and has some nice options, but the price is on the high side. What do you think it's worth, assuming a clean PPI?

Here in Portland, it is in the upper price range for an '03 but not high. I see them asking more than that for good condition '03- '04 base models but they won't sell for that. Prices haven't gone as low here as we have less to choose from, at least in those years, the early years are getting down there though. I paid more for my '04 2 years ago but would expect to ask about what they are asking now, maybe take a little less. It is a great time to bargain as the dealer knows we have RAIN for many months to come in Portland.

Thanks Pirate50. I'm seeing similar pricing and availability in the Puget Sound area.
Do you live near Hillsboro by any chance??

if you do have a look check the paint on the drivers side upper wing from wheel arch to door.. maybe the picture but the paint looks little off.

and if you do plump for it.. an 03 with 46k on it.. get a full warranty if you can. an IMS could ruin your day !

Tip should also put the price down since they're less desirable. Time of the season should also put the price down as well.

Looks very clean and I like the TIP. Boxsters with TIP's have less IMS trouble and are more fun to drive everyday. I believe in 03 they changed the IMS bearing issue and maybe have resolved the problem. Make him and offer.

No the IMS problem was not resolved until the introduction of direct injection on the 987 in 08 or 09 when Porsche did away wit the IMS. Way to much money I have really, really been doing research on 986 looking to buy and I would not pay over $15,000 for that boxster. They either bought it wrong or they are just hoping that someone will walk in and have to have it.

Instead of speculating, you should go and check the vehicle out. If it passes your scrutiny, make them an offer . Its a common tactic for a seller, especially one who is a dealer, to start high. In this economy with winter around the corner, you may find that you have some leverage . Good luck.

This car is $9,000 less and I found it in less than 5 minutes. You could update the top and headlights and still be some $4,000 to $5,000 ahead.

Heck if nothing else use it as leverage.

I've been to that dealer to look at a couple of other cars, they look nice in pictures but most of their stuff is thrashed. I would stay away from that guy. And to answer the original posters question, No, I'm on the opposite side of the Portland metro area from Hillsboro, ( about an hour away ). I do think the dealer in Hillsboro is fairly reputable, new car dealer, been around for at least 20 years.

I'm not saying to go buy this car instead. I am simply saying that there are alot of options out there alot of different 986's and 987's. Take your time shop around and when you find the right one for the right money you will know it and you will buy it. Then your post will be "hey guys just picked up this great little boxster at a great price and I can't get rid of this grin on my face."

And yeah the boxster at speed sports looks rough even in their non-HD pics. Looks like it has been rear-ended and bandaged back togather. Look at the rear bumper lines.
