PSM Failure - 2006 Boxster S - Help Please

Car sat for over 4 months and the battery died.

When I took it out of the car it was found that it could not be save.

Replaced battery with Die Hard. Works great with one exception.

The PSM triangle stays lit and in the information section it say PSM FAILURE.

Tried pushing the PSM buttom while running, holding it down and it still is the same.

Also, car has Sport Chrono package, sport mode will not engage.

Any clues?

Any DIY solutions?

Is ther something that I'm not doing?

Ideas to get this solved short of brining it to the "dealer"?

It is a certifed car for another 2 years.

Thanks,

Bugley

Someone else can ring in on your problem, but sounds like you lost some codes.

For this past year's winter hibernation, I stored the 2006 987S in an off-site garage without power, so I had to pull the battery (and kept on a maintainer in the workshop back home). Usually, I keep the car on the Porsche battery maintainer, but the Turbo got the heated spot at home this year. Hence the Boxster got stored off-site.

In late March I put the fully charge OEM battery in the car, and also got the "PSM Failure" as expected per the Owner's Manual. Within the first 1-2 blocks of driving, the light cleared, also as expected. All normal.

Bugley, have you driven the car yet? It should clear.
