I added a cd changer to my 2000 after locating one on Craig's list. It came complete with the bracket needed to fix it to the firewall. On a 986 the necessary hardware (bolts) were already installed by the factory. All I had to do was install the bracket (along with the changer) and hook up the connector(s) that were already in place. Of course I had to tell the radio that the changer had been installed. I can't imaging that your installation would be much different.
