tiptronic transmission
My tiptronic transmission when in D starts in 2nd gear I've never noticed this before but just had new front tires put today. Any ideas?

Thats normal. you have to manually put it into first. I am not sure why they did it that way, but my guess is for better traction.

Yes ... it is normal. Get a copy of the manual and it explains it in detail. I also have a tip ...

Normal. Unless you floor it when taking off it'll not see 1st except for the first time you drive off.

Before the car is warmed up it will start off in first. Once the trans is a little warm, it starts in second. Its all in the owner manual.
