I use Mobil 1 10 40 for higher mileage cars (79,000). Can purchase at WalMart for less that $25 for a 5 quart jug.

Brad,
can you get the SKU number from one of the jugs?
I'm trying to get my local Walmart to order it. They think it doesn't exist.

My local Walmart here had Syntec 5-30W so, I used that last week. I don't sit in traffic or drive when it is 100 outside (since it rarely is here) and I feel OK using 5-30W. no 10-anything W was available.
My Mercedes would clatter valves if I used anything except 0-30w or 0-40w. Must be very tight in there.

I guess I didn't read your post carefully enough, I was looking for the Castrol Syntec 10w-40 in the 5qt jug SKU.
Does anybody have that?

I got my oil at Advance Auto Parts. They have a deal for 5 quarts of Castrol Syntec + a Bosch Distance Plus filter for $26.95. So I got 5 (already had one) quarts of 5w-30 for the Firehawk.
They sent out a flyer that has a coupon for any non-sale items for $5 off if you spend $25, $10 off if you spend $50, and $20 off if you spend $100. So I got 9 quarts of 10w-40 for the Boxster, and that got me the $10 off.
So it worked out to about $5.50 per quart, and the filter for about $1.50.
The sale is this week only I think.

I called my local NAPA. The guys said, "Yeah. We've got it, but we've only got 9 quarts." I said, "I'm on my way." The moron had Castrol GTX in 10w-40, but did not have any Syntec in 10w-40.
