Exclamation Hi..I am a newbie and May I ask your opinions this?

Hi...my brother has 98 boxster and He was driving freeway.. Suddenly he lost power and engine was misfiring and he pulled over the vehicle to the side...

He took it into mechanic shop (Not specialty shop) He tested engine was misfiring and tested the coiles tested the cylinder compression and told him that " 5th Cylinder has no compression"

My brother didn't wanna deal with it and he directed matters to me....

Can you guys help me? What are possiblities of these engine fixes? Could it be just valve lifters that had failed? or possibly bent valves? The engine has 79k miles on it..it was never overheated...

Pleeeease help me.. Thank you for your kind responses...

Andrew
