Front brake pad replacement

Hi guys

How much should I expect to pay, in the UK, to have my front pads replaced at a dealer? Is it a better option to go to someone else?

Thanks

Not to entice you too far into the DIY camp, but pad replacement on the Boxster is very easy... just something to think of when others let you know how expensive the pad job is to have done.

I agree with DonV - the tools you need would cost less than having it done by a shop (WAY less than having Porsche do it), working on your car is one of the manly arts, and you'll know they're done right. Plus, if you do your own brakes you can upgrade fluid (Motul 600) and go with an aftermarket pad (I like EBC Green for street driving and EBC Yellow for track) for no extra labor and lower part cost than OEM replacements.
