Front Trunk Won't Close !

so a few weeks ago, I opened up my front trunk to clean it out before I stored it for the winter here in Canada. As usual, I bring the front trunk down to get it to latch on and then push gently to lock it down.

Well, oddly enough, it kept bouncing back up and I can't , for the life of me, lock the front trunk !

Has anyone else experienced this problem ?

Now, I'm not sure if temperature has anything to do with it, but it is below freezing here right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I haven't been completely unable to get it to secure yet, but I have to keep trying repeatedly.

Garage
germans don't make locks

Joe; is it sitting outside?, we've had a wide temperature swing out west and for a while when it got cold the doors on my passat wouldn't latch shut

since it (your 986) has an electric release , you might start by checkinG that nothing has fallen down into the latching area, i solved ,my cold problem by putting a heat gun to the latch mechanism.

by the way thatS one very nice looking ride.
