Car stopped running...need a thought
My car ran ok till last week when it stalled. It would only stall @ a stop light w/the a/c on. Then it stalled w/o any accessories on & took a couple min of sitting & it started again. Today it did the same thing, couple min later it started, but ran w/a miss & eventually stalled again. Not it will start, but only for a couple seconds & then dies out. Only code showing is P0102...thing is I just put a new MAF in a few months ago. Could this be a MAF issue or maybe a fuel pump or filter issue, b/c it seems to being starved of fuel & that leads me to think it could be a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.

When trying to start, is the starter turning the motor?

When it shuts down, does the tach slowly return to zero as the motor slows and stops, or does it fall to zero like a rock?

Oxygen Sensor
Never had a problem on mine but my 04 Trailblazer did. Started running rough, die, hardly go. Turned to be a oxygen sensor. I believe it was upstream. :ah:

If it drops in proportion to the engine revs, it is probably not an electrical issue.
I'd check the fuel pressure first.

Just remembered
I had an issue with a Toyota one time, ran good but when you got going it seemed to run out of gas. Stopped and waited about 5-10 minutes, started up and would run fine and as soon as you got, say 50mph it would do it again. I had a friend that had worked at a Chevy dealership and he came with the idea that there was something in the gas line. We disconnected it from the tank and fuel pump. Took a higher pressure air hose to the line and a piece of plastic came out. After that never had another problem.

Well, for what it is worth, for anybody who has a future issue like this, it appears to be a bad throttle idle air valve.
