boxster loss of power

Hi 1999 boxster was showing misfire codes to cylinders 4,5and 6 which was giving a severe loss of power at 3500revs.Today I disconnected the maf and the car ran superb apart from cutting out at idle.I reconnected the maf and the car was back to losing power at 3500 revs.Do you think a new maf will cure this problem, thanks,Steven. All advice welcome.
