Newb question

New to me 98 boxster is doing something unexpected. The running lights are flashing on their own accord as if the hazard button has been pushed but it has not. I does it on start up occasionally and after the turn indicator has been used but not always. Both sides and front and rear are flashing.

Thank you for your help.

Just a wild guess. Do a search on the ignition switch. I have heard that when it begins to fail some really weird things start to happen with the electrical system.

That would make perfect sense since the ignition switch is on it's way out. Thanks for the quick reply.

Any suggestions on where to purchase, I am not up to speed on the good parts houses for Porsche. I can tell you anything you want to know about a land rover though.

I would check the flasher relay and the hazard switch.

The hazard switch seems to be functioning properly, I can hear the relay/timer clicking. I could not figure out how the timer would get energized unless it was coming from the power source somehow but the ignition switch would 'splain it and it is definitely faulty.
