Car Covers

Hello All,

I was looking into getting a car cover for my 2002 Boxster. Unfortunately, I have to park ourside so I feel that this is a must. Anyone have any recommendations on car covers. I called the Porsche dealer and he said that it costs about $180 retail, but could get me a deal at about $100. That's still pricey, considering that a genric one costs $40 at target/kmart.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Danny

Talking Car cover

Just be the one to post the 986th post here in the forum and you will win that car cover. Look to the left in the sidebar navigation area. There is a contest for that.

<----------------------- see it over there on the left?

Post Posting numbers

Well everytime you come to the forum you see how many posts there are at the top left under the horizontal navigation bar in the middle where it shows the total number of posts to the forum. It shows the number of members, threads and posts. Not hard to find.

Which reminds me Jorge, are you able to record the IP of the member or member's name who posts the 986th post?

Another thing about that, should this be open to even unregistered users or just members? If the case is the latter, perhaps you should specify that in the Contest News blurb, eh?

Just a few thoughts on that. Do you have any way to code something, as we get closer to the 986th post, that would display the number of the latest post and who posted it? Kind of like a countdown tracker if you know what I mean. We are just about 50 posts away now.

Folks,

I can access the database directly and see the results. Here is an example of the list for the first 23 posts:

+--------+----------------------+
| postid | username |
+--------+----------------------+
| 1 | Jorge Torralba |
| 2 | Jorge Torralba |
| 3 | Jorge Torralba |
| 4 | Jorge Torralba |
| 5 | Jorge Torralba |
| 6 | Jorge Torralba |
| 7 | Jorge Torralba |
| 8 | Jorge Torralba |
| 10 | Lindsay |
| 11 | Jorge Torralba |
| 12 | Jorge Torralba |
| 13 | Jorge Torralba |
| 14 | Jorge Torralba |
| 15 | CharlesGordon |

| 18 | CharlesGordon |
| 19 | CharlesGordon |
| 20 | JSLeach |
| 21 | JSLeach |
| 22 | JSLeach |
| 23 | JSLeach |

Now,

There are currently 934 posts and the table shows 972. This is due to deleted posts from the past. So, when the table shows post 1024 that will be the equiv of 986 should none be deleted. However, I will keep tabs on it.

I will see if I can write some code to display this info. Any, good luck.

JT

Thanks for the "counter" information. As before, you computer guys amaze me. I use the PC and various workstations (unix stuff) daily at my office, but predominately use utilities written by someone in I.T. Thus, I am a bit behind.....

I just received a box of goodies from SunCoast Porsche in the mail. Euro (clear/red) taillights, Litronic kit, umbrella for the door-slot......

Happy holidays to me!!!

Talking Santa Claus is coming to Portland, right?

Well, make sure he brings you an '03! You have been good, haven't you?

If that doesn't work, go and buy one! You want it Jorge.

I was at the dealer last week and checked out the 03 -- great looking with the new carrera wheels (narrow spokes). I also like the glass window in the rear, although it does look a bit smaller then the plastic one.

Jorge -- can you wait??????

Happy to all!
