LOL at the photo series showing the car driven into a rainstorm, then getting stuck under an overpass while it pours:

I'm sure it drives like a dream but I'm not a fan of the design.

The word Platypus comes to mind -- a bunch of aftermarket ideas cobbled together to make something that technically works but isn't what anyone would term elegant.

As I said earlier, if I were in the market, I'd be inclined to purchase a roller earlier S, remove as much weight as possible (see spec racer Boxster site) and stuff a Raby 3.6 in it. You'd have a GT3 killer for a whole lot less than Porsche's marketing gimmick.

I've never been a fan of the humps...it makes the car appear weighty in the wrong spot; and that "rain bonnet" is simply of no use for anything other than garage queens.

Hey man, my modded 2000 base has an electric top and AC and it weighs at least 100 lbs less than the new Spyder, so what's the big deal. Oh, ya, I forgot, I dont have 320 hp....

I will say I like that they apparently added the cool steering wheel from the 911 Turbo including the paddles for PDK that everyone has been screaming for. still, not enough for me. these will likely end up in future model Boxsters anyway (if they have half a brain).

JEALOUS

–adjective
1. feeling resentment against someone because of that person's rivalry, success, or advantages (often fol. by of): He was jealous of his rich brother.
2. feeling resentment because of another's success, advantage, etc. (often fol. by of): He was jealous of his brother's wealth.

It's a REAL man's car. But I like my A/C, stereo and top - I must be a wose

I like the idea of a stripped-down Boxster thats performance tuned and lightened. But I am not wild about the bumps on the back of the Spyder, and when looking for a daily driver, like me, the no-top thing does not make a lot of sense. Still if they wanted to trade me my car for the impractical new Spyder with the funny bumps, I think I could make it work....
