I guess Porsche perfected the rear engine sports car because only recently have names other than Porsche figured in the winners circle at LeMans. But in a heavy cross wind at 90mph I know I would much rather be in my little Boxster than a 911..I like my front wheels firmly weighed/planted down thank you very much.

Hi phrankandbeanz,
Where's the link? No worries, I promise not to fight them

Wink

Gosh that's hilarious. They've already got cool 911's and they are STILL acting like insecure little men.
If I had a 911 I would be, well, just like I am right now with my Boxster.

Happy.

Talking

These are just cars that we have purchased, right? Well, not to some as it would appear.

Time to grow up a little, I think for some of these guys.

what really baffles me is that people on most forums say they are car "enthusiast." I am of course biased towards porsches and bmw's because I own them and love them , however that doesn't stop me from saying a lexus is going to have better reliability and in terms of that it might be a better car. People think the cayman's ugly? Most people who look at both the 997 and Cayman won't be able to tell them apart. So does that make the 997 ugly too?

This is veering almost off topic, (soc studies coming into play), a lot of our biases and beliefs in things make us prejudice towards others(whether or not its race, cars, food, or what not) and therefore believe it justifies our unrational behaviors or logic. I know we are only talking about cars, but a lot of that can relate to prejudice or unrational in the world system today.

I just had a final yesterday where I studied 2 days straight and this stuff is hardwired into me right now.

I almost had to delete your entire post, but then I thought, that would simply be giving into my biases!

Question,

If you die , objectively you are dead.

If you don't realize it, subjectively you are not dead!

How to resolve such a situation??????

Just read the new classifications for my local Porsche Autocross club:

S7: Boxster-S through 2004, Boxster 2005, 911 Turbo, 993, 996, 997.
Will be mainly Box-S vs 993/996.

S8: Boxster-S, 997-S, GT-3, GT-2.
Top of the food chain

Oh boy I can't wait to see how many 996 I can beat.
Those 996 owners are usually "wine and cheese" crowd types.
The average time and the best time are often seperated by several seconds
where as with other clubs like SCCA and NASA the best time and average time
are often seperated by less than one second. I recall one event where across the different classes from the top to the bottom, drivers with at least one season were all seperated by less than two seconds. From 911 to Miata.

(yes the 05 BoxsterS is being classified above the 911 Turbo)
