Need Zeintop Fitment Help!

Hi Everybody,

I just recently purchased the Zeintop and am having some fitment issues. The installer is having issues in having the hardtop sit flush on the car. It appears that it is sitting about an inch too high on the car. Some of the pictures I have seen actually remove the soft top which might cure the issue, but I would like to avoid removing and installing the soft top every season. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Also, does the window mechanism need to be adjusted after putting on the hardtop? If anyone has any tips, it would be greatly appreciated. I included a couple of pictures that display the fitment issues.

Thanks for your help,
Greg

I don’t have any experience specific to the Zeintop, however the first time I installed an OEM hardtop on my Boxster the posts attached to the top wouldn’t insert fully into the spinlocks. The top wasn’t getting caught up on anything else but it was not sitting flush in the back. My solution was to loosen the adjustment mounts on the posts and install the top then retighten the post mounts. By doing this, and applying some downward force to the top of the top, I was able to get it properly seated.

I installed my Zeintop this spring. It also rides just a bit high in the same spot (even though I didn't use any shims under the spinlocks). Aron, your suggestion is something I'll try -- if you have any photos of the adjustment mounts, or showing where to look for them, that would be appreciated. I'm about to put on the Zeintop for the winter soon.

Beachbum, in image 3, it looks like it's flush, but maybe that's the camera angle.

There's an excellent Zeintop thread in Boxa.net entitled "zeintop arriving tomorrow" worth reading.
