On the slim chance that I can get away, what is the temp likely to be? I need to decide if I should keep on the winter tires or put the PS2s back on.

Ed, it's a toss up. The winter tires might work better first thing in the morning, but it's not going to be 37 degrees for long. The PS2's will probably perform much better when it warms up and the tires warm up as well.
Either way, don't throw caution to the wind when driving this weekend. Better to be a little slower and keep the shiny side up and the dull side down

Had a great time at lunch with Mike and Tony. All you can eat pizza
I was not very happy though because the wife said she had no interest in running the dragon and the dog wouldn't put up with it in the back seat either. So I was right there with my newish 550i and I did not drive it.
She even told me to slow down a number of times on the Cherohala Skyway, so I poked up and down the mountain and let everyone pass us.
Note to self: Do not return to Robbinsville with wife or dog or sedan.

Randall,
Cindy and I enjoyed meet you again but this time with your lovely wife. Too bad you had to hold back the 550i on the Skyway. We'll see you in September.
Tony,
What did you think of the pickle?
Another road we found that was a blast to drive was Wayah Road...

Doesn't look that impressive until you zoom in on the map. The curves around the lake were flat and sweeping.

the pickle was good. kind of straightened out once you cross out of swain and into macon county.
had to pull over and take a picture. good scenery too.
found your nemesis too...

Ah! Nice. Those were not up when I looked this morning.
What, too cold to put the top down, come on!
I see several of my roadster buddies there too, maybe next year...

kabel,
Top was up because the frost was still on the top from the night before! I think the low was in the high 30s.
See the link in post #53. Much warmer in the afternoon.
