Sounds like you don't have the spinlocks installed. They really clamp down the top and will bring the back down to where you want it. Don't drive with the hardtop on until you get the spinlocks installed.
That Porsche TSB makes it look really easy....it's not. They fail to mention that you can't really SEE the place where the bolt goes in to secure the spinlock. It's very easy to drop the bolt or an allen wrench down into the body of the car...be careful.
Remove the trim panels and take your time. Don't remove the screw on the top of the trim panel, just loosen it,then you can slide the panel up and out.
Do a search, there is a good post somewhere here with good photos that you can follow.Print it and take it into your garage and follow it.
