Nice!! Q, good looking car.

QporscheQ 03-26-2004 07:24 PM

Thanks. This car was a long time in the making and a lot of hard work that paid off.

Adam 03-26-2004 09:43 PM

^All you need to do now is ditch that license plate on the front and you'll be all set.

daman 03-30-2004 08:15 PM

Sweet car. Who's 928 is that in the background?

daman 03-30-2004 08:17 PM

Red with Black interior

QporscheQ 03-31-2004 05:24 AM

The 928 belongs to the guy who lives across the street. That car is spotless. The car still looks like it is fresh from the dealer. I just hope I can keep my car looking that good for so long.

(Adam, I took a picture without the front plate just for you. Its still on the camera though)

"Bugly" Blue?

Cruising this weekend, we came across what (in our opinion) was the worst Boxster color seen so far - the best way to describe it was to imagine a white car that someone had colored with a blue highlighter - kind of like speed yellow, but in baby blue instead. Both my passenger and I simultaneously blurted out "UUUUggghhhllleeee!" when we saw it coming towards us. A real head turner (and stomach too)! :barf:

Any idea what the official name of this color is?

CharlesGordon 05-03-2004 09:03 AM

Can't be blue turquise, that is a gorgeous color (medium blue, non-metallic) offered only in 97. Sounds like Riviera Blue?

donv 05-03-2004 09:08 AM

It did appear to be non-metallic... but we may have missed any metallic effects in the overall "glow" of the color...

If you have a copy of PORSCHE PANORAMA, the color of the "PANORAMA" in the cover text (at least on the latest issue) is very close to what I remember this car being painted... which might be considered "Turquoise"?

Black on Boxster Red. I'll shamelessly X-attach my pic again in this thread. :) I've been seeking this color combo for over a year now since I saw one sitting in the Porsche Service center lot.

Craig,
dont the clear headlights have a amber panel in them? how did u remove that? "...clear headlites with the amber center removed....Both have had the Silvervision bulbs added, made by me." I know how to find those bulbs but not sure how u removed the amber center??

I thought someone here might be interested to know that there is a Boxster S motor and 6 speed trans with all the wires and accessories for sale on ebay RIGHT NOW !
The auction started last night and runs until the 22nd.
The ebay item number is 7916666299

Supposedly it came out of a black car !!

Richard Truss 08-16-2004 05:51 PM

why do i get the feeling that you are the guy selling it? :D

Lux 09-08-2004 12:44 PM

I've got connections in the Porsche engineering department. They all tell me that scientific tests confirm black is the fastest color. :D

BTW, black w/ red interior is awesome. Although the Porsche red interior is a little too bright. If they darken it up I'd be all over it.

Where is Arena Red?

Where is Arena Red? (burgundy)

Triple Black for me - easy choice, as all my other cars have been black with black interior.

Biarritz White w/ black / black.
Biarritz was discontinued after '01 in favor of the brighter 'carrera' whte...I actually prefer the softer shade of mine...but then, they all look good.
