Dumb Question

How do I get the ball joints on the convertible top cables to "disconnect"

I lost(my wife threw out) my manual!

They should pop off with some twisting.

But seriously, I think they just need a little muscle. Maybe a screwdriver to assist. Then htrow out the wife
