Vacuum Line Brake Booster

I dropped my vehicle off at the dealership. It's a 2000 Boxster S. They said I have a leak in my vacuum line brake booster. Is this difficult to replace? They are asking for around $500. Thanks.

Actually pretty easy DIY but you will have to remove the master cylinder and brake lines, then bleed the system after (if your fluid is 2+ yrs., you're due anyway).

Aside from the normal wrenches and sockets, you will need a T-45 Torx (suggest a socket so you can properly torque it when through - 17 ft. lbs.).

IIRC, the part runs $250 + brake fluid ($20). PM me with an email and I can send you the procedure as a word doc. Then decide.

I tried sending you a PM but it says you have too many already. I will check my PM periodically if you want to send it there. When you start talking about master cylinder, is that difficult? It sounds intimidating. I only have tools, nothing fancy. I'll have to pick up that one torx you mentioned, but is that really all that is needed.

Which part are you saying costs $250? The T-45 only costs about 5 bucks. Email is airplaneking@hotmail.com

Sorry, mailbox cleared. I need an email because you cannot make attachments to PMs.

Thanks for the file, however I think there has been a miscommunication. I just need to replace the vacuum line (part# 98635557507) since it has a leak in it. This line goes to the brake booster but the brake booster itself is ok.

This is the piece I'm trying to move:
