New M535

Hi
New to sight and to Porsche .
My 1997 Boxster had the flood in back seat and of course the M535 was wasted.
Will the car start with the new M535 instailed?

Thanks
Mitch

Sooooo.....in referencing M535, it looks like you are talking about your alarm system computer that got fried.

You may need a new key to go with it.

You cannot simply install a new Alarm module and start the car w/o programming it first.

You're either going to have to get your car to the dealer (or an independent), or get them to come to you (good luck with that).

Unhappy Found a Independent

Hi
Found a Independent who can program my M535 control unit. Had it towed their and the Porsche dealer will not give him the number to program it. I call the Dealer Gaudin Porsche where I purchased the M535 from and they also say they do not give out the code number. Were do I go now.

thanks
Mitch

On a side note, to prevent this from reoccuring; make sure that they locate the water source. I suggest that you vacuum bag seal the M535 module before replacing under the driver's seat to prevent the unit from getting wet. Also, have they tried opening, and drying the old unit before replacing?? Some M535 unit can be salvaged using a hair dryer (depending on the extent of the water damage).

I called and file a complaint with Porsche of north America and they promised to get back to me with in 48 hrs. I guess I will see?

Sorry to read about your plight, sometimes you have to "eat it" and let the dealer do the repair, (which is why my car has only one key). I doubt Porsche NA will be sensitive to the situation, you'll have to let us know. If you get rung out at the dealer, just do the other repairs you are capable of and the savings will work out over time

Wink m535 problem

Porsche of north America did get back to me they said it was up to the dealer to give me a code sheet. I went to Jack Daniels Porsche in Fairlawn NJ . The were very helpful and after a 15 minutes inquire( along with title) to make sure I was the true owner They gave me the codes. Very Friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, not all shops can perform the M535 programming. Your last course of action would be to take it to the Porsche dealer for programming.
Goodluck!

Hey my old buddies...

Jack Daniels in NJ. Bought my Audi A6 Quattro from them - so I saw quite a lot of the service dept.
