i have a 2000 boxter ,i start the car when i press the gas ,it doesnt respond ,the car does not accelerate ,the rpms dont even go up

when i tried the next day it was fine
later on that day it did it again

does anyone know about this problem
please help

A sticky throttle body?

I don't even know what a throttle body is,

but I too felt like being 'wise'.

It has been discussed here many times so maybe that is a jump start to research?

Look into the TPS, or even the electrical connection at the TPS.

Are you getting any check engine lights? This happened to me before, but I got about 20 different codes that couldn't have all happened at once. It ended up being a bad ECU and it had to be replaced.

Search on this forum and others, there are different diagnostic modes the Throttle Position Sensor goes into if there is an issue between the pedal potentiometer and the TPS.

Try the eGas reset procedure:

With nothing touching the gas pedal, turn the ignition on (do not crank)

Wait 90 seconds without touching the gas pedal, you will hear the throttle motor run.

Turn the ignition off for at least 15 seconds.

Start the car and see if it's fixed.
