New Hardtop from France

Saw this ad in 911 & Porsche World, a magazine from the UK. Very nice looking top that I think compliments the Boxster shape better than the factory one and rivals the Zientec one. The site is under construction but you can see some clear detail shots of the offering. Go to:

www.d-moris-equipments.com

Highlight products and then Hardtops, 986 I have no idea the price or what shipping would be to the USA but I think it looks quality and has a nice shape. Your thoughts?

LOL, actually if I was in the market for a hardtop, depending on the price, I would certainly give this one a second look. The photos look quality but I would like to see one up close and personal and hear from anyone who has this top installed.

The nice think about a hardtop like this or the regular Porsche one is that you can take it off in five minutes, and go driving with the top down. You don't have to bother with replacing the clamshell and truck lid.
But I may be a bit biassed as well.

Wow... looked really good with their turbo bodykit. Realy makes the lines flow on the car versus the factory hardtop which looks like an after-thought.

Good for fast on/off functionality ...

I prefer the asthetics of the Zeintop though.

That rear bumper is unusual... it's kind of Carrera 4Sy. It has vents, and is arc'd
inward towards the bottom. The 987 version looks better than the 986 if you ask me.

For those that wish to be spared the digging around...

It is definitely more convenience than Zeintop but I don't think it is better looking than Zeintop. Once I take the hardtop off, it stayed off until cold weather arrives. Where I live, I have 7 months of cold weather so I don't mind spending extra time to install the Zeintop. It is like changing winter tires in the winter and summer tires in the spring. Life in great white north. :-)

Ha, that's funny. That's exactly what I noticed/said. Then I remembered I'm not a fan of Carbon Fiber-like products. Looks decent though.

I also like the top...better than factory but not as complimentary as Z-top. Knowing something about the price would help...

Il faut que vous l'achetez = You must get it! Or I could have used obtainer. Did I use the wrong verb, cuz I totally don't understand your remark.

BTW, Happy Thanksgiving. I got a bunch of Christmas junk out and can't decide if I want to fool with a tree or not. Maybe a glass of wine will help me decide. Can I have wine before noon? Probably not. It will make me too lazy to clean my cars, use the leaf blower, throw a turkey in the oven....

FTD, you must not be from the south.

Here, if one doesn't understand something another person says in another language, but doesn't want anyone to think they're an idiot, they make a joke out of what was said with one of three things:

"you do and you'll clean it up"

or

"you stepped in what?"

or

"that's what SHE said!"

Try it out some time. You'll get a good laugh.

BTW, that last one makes everything sound dirty
