my center console has a very slight texture to it. not as pronounced as the texture on the bumperettes, but it's not 100% smooth...

i didn't know paint can "shrink".... I do NOT want to expend all the time/hassle only to have it turn out like crap... but i don't want it done bad enough to shell out the $380 or so that bumperplugs.com wants for one.... it would look good, but not *that* good....

maybe i'll wait for the bumperette job to be 100% done and I'll see how it turns out. If I am impressed with myself and my DIY abilities, maybe I'll try the center console... if I royally screw it up i can always buy the professionally done one as an emergency backup to avoid having a trashed interior.....

...or just sand it down again and spray it a second time.

I've found most projects like this work out great if you are willing to take your time and keep at it. Rinse and repeat if necessary.
