My Boxster saw snow!
 

To some of you this may not be a big deal, but here in New Orleans seeing snow is a weird thing. I went to go to work today and my car was in the driveway covered in snow! :D

Hahahaha Ya'll can keep that stuff way down south where it belongs. :)

The only time mine sees snow is when I open the garage door other than that snow is pretty common north of the 49th.

I can't drive in those boots, so no pics of me driving in them. I can't find any pictures of me wearing them either, but here's a pic of me and some friends. I'm the one in the middle.


We get snow so rarely here that it's a big event, even that little bit, which was really like driving in rain. Here's a silly little video some people in our office did this morning because of the snow.

And maxferran, when I was driving downtown I saw tons of people everywhere taking pictures. We get so excited here about something that is just a normal occurence in other cities. I'm wondering tomorrow if it'll be icy though and dangerous to drive. All I know is right now I am FREEZING! I have on sweats and a robe and fuzzy booties and the heat is cranked up and I still can't get warm.

Sorry about that. You should buy some of those boots for your wife for Xmas. :D

Actually, I did get heated seats and they were worth every penny. I wasn't going to and the salesman sold me on them by pointing out that us southernerns aren't used to cold. I was like yep, true, I hate cold weather, and I have used them tons of times already. They are also good like a heating pad if I have a back ache.


I wasn't actually driving in the snow. The ground was just wet, not icy even. The snow melted as it hit. I didn't have any problem with traction but I did drive slowly.

Somehow I don't think I'd get the same level of response if I made a post about my Boxster and some snow... ;)

Actually, with my three furballs running around, I usually go out looking like I'm wearing an Angora snowsuit.

I didn't see any sunglasses (of course I didn't notice any makeup either)... so hey, if you want your style to be considered Neo-ish, who am I to judge... ;)

If I just could stop bullets like that, I'd have several less holes. :(

I really can't drive with those boots on or any heels for that matter. I can't push the clutch with heels.

I think if it ever snows again I'll have to be prepared and have in my car a pair of clear stripper heels, a gun, a whip, and some panties to throw into the picture to make it interesting.

Okay, I was driving around New Orleans yesterday but it was in a very pedestrian Pontiac rental mobile. Was staying on St. Charles and it was sort of cool to see the street cars running in the snow. Drove out to look at the hurricane protection project between the Orleans Avenue Canal and the London Avenue Canal and they had the bridges closed because of the weather. Being a northerner I just drove around the barricades. :)

BTW, my Boxster is hibernating in my garage here in Minnesota.

I know all you northerners just laugh at how excited we get here over snow. I can't even tell you how many people I saw taking pictures yesterday when I was leaving my neighborhood. My brother even called me from his software training he's in this week to ask if I could take pictures of the snow. I have a friend who is also a court reporter like me and she refused to go to her job because she said who's going to pay for her car if she wrecks, and she drives an SUV. She thought I was nuts to go, but there wasn't really snow on the ground so it wasn't bad.

Ah.. New Orleans in the Winter Time. Nothing quite like the sound of newly fallen snow crunching under your tires as you pull out of the garage.

Do you own an ice scraper?

O.K. I finally dig my car out of the snow but before I did that I took some photos to show you southerner what it like here in the frozen land. The temperature today is -10F or -24C. I couldn't open my front trunk because it is frozen solid. I have to take the car to an underground parking in order it to thaw out.
