Speaker upgrade question

I just finished replacing the stock speakers on a 02 S with PolkAudio 401s and 651s. With the CD, the sound is incredible but as soon as I switch to the radio there is way too much bass and it is not very well defined. Anybody got ideas on what to do to make it equal. I did not replace the head unit or amp.

Thanks

Gary

Congrats - definitely worthwhile upgrades. I put 6.75" in the doors on wood baffles w/ sound deadener.

Anyhow, I'm 100% certain, but I think the h/u keeps separate bass and treble settings depending on the source (maybe even loudness setting too). Check those out...

Too much bass

Yes...the head unit does have controls on bass and treble so I'll just use those.

Thanks for replying.
