I'm in the opposite position as you, my Esprit is paid off and the boxter has another year of payments. The boxster was paid off, but I bought the Esprit cash so I borowed a little against the Boxster.

The Esprit handles better than the boxster and is of course faster, but if you're planning to purchase one, you should be handy woth the wrench. Otherwise this car will be quite expensive to run. Bur working on it yourself is quite rewarding, after all you're basically working on a race car

Mine is actually Red, I'll post pics this weeked of the boxster and the Esprit.

Jerry

My Other Cars...

I own a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV (no picture...they're everywhere!), and a 1978 Fiat 124 Spider. See web site: http://members.cox.net/wpwalsh/images/fiatside01.jpg

BTW, how does one attach an image to their member info (like the rest of you)?

I have only just got my Boxster, a 2.5 R reg, Arctic silver, red leather with the sports pack. Compared to other cars I have owned it's pretty slow but it does look good and hopefully won't depreciate like a stone. My last two cars were a Nissan 300zx twin turbo, very very fast and a Fiat Coupe 20V turbo with a £5,000 lightened and balanced engine. I raced a 2001 911 carrera and there was nothing in it. As I have only just brought it im not sure which I prefer yet, i'll let you know.

Subaru Forester XT Luxury

Just rediscovered this thread.

Update from me, I sold the VW Passat and replaced it with a Subuary Forester XT Luxury.

Wife loves the higher driving position and SUV like appearance. My condition for buying it was that we get the XT version with 169 kw/230 bhp turbo engine.

It's quicker off the lights than my 98 Boxster (0-60mph in 6 seconds man, 7.2 in the auto), and very comfortable, but doesn't come close to the Box around any corner or the brakes. In fact, when we first got it I thought there was something wrong with the brakes. We are spoilt by Porsche and their penchant for big disks and calipers. Subaru should offer the STI brake package for the Forester.

There must have been another thread like this a while back but my other car is a truck...

04' Land Rover Discovery, last of the really capable right out of the box, mechanical CDL trucks available from Land Rover here in the US before going the high tech, high price point direction with the LR3 and Range Rover Sport. A little rough around the edges but I love it for the mundane daily driving along with the little dirty work when I want to have some fun off the pavement.

2001 MB CLK320 Good for around town and long drives.

Lots of twisty roads here so the Boxster is driven regularly. Great fun on Sunday following some bikes around some twisty roads - I kept my distance so good fun was had by all. Bug smiles from/to everyone when we hit town.

I just enjoyed my Boxster so much, a great driving car!

Will add another car to the collection when my daughter moves out!
