Question Locking driver door with key???

Hi;

I own my 03 Boxster since 3 months now. The remote locking /unloaking and alarm works great but today, I did try something we are no more doing often, lock/unlock door outside with the key. Surprise, turning the key clockwise or counterclockwise doesn't do anything. It mean if I lock my car with the remote and my key battery fail, I'm not able to unlock the car. Am I missing something? Is this another option to activate??? Help pls before it happens to my wife!

Tks!

Thierry

Not often and only for a short drive... She is too stressed to drive my Boxy. She prefer her Mazda 3...

I am very happy she owns a Mazda. They are great people to do business with. I am even enjoying learning Japanese, out of respect for my tomodachi (friend/s).
I am surprised no-one has asked about the saying under my siggy pic.
(reign of 987)

BTW I'll have to try the key on my 987 door.

Probably a typo, but the phrase 'Reign of 987' would translate into Japanese as: 'Toochi Ku Hachi Shichi'...
or Toochi区八七

Let's be serious just a minute. Any people meet that lock/unlock problem in the past? Maybe I can remove the driver side door stuff and look inside how it is built.
