The '97's don't have slipped sleeve issues, it is really only '99's I see no problem with a '97 other than it is lacking the side airbags the other years have. Just get a PPI.

Off the top of my head, in addition to the lack of side airbag that rick3000 pointed out, the suspension is weaker on the 97s, as well as issues with the convertible top. Good luck!
