Removing interior pieces?

I am going to be painting some interior pieces due to wear and tear. How difficult is it to remove the dash surround? I see the four screws under the gauge brow, but it looks like you have to remove the gauges to get to them. Also, is it possible to remove the OEM gauge rings so they can be painted?

shaman1204,

I'm assuming your car is a 986. Are you referring to removing the whole instrument pod from the car? If so it is rather easy. The link is for the OBC hack which includes removing the instrument pod.

If you are want to separate the instrument pod further once out of the car let me know, I can help.

I don't know if you can remove the OEM gauge rings. My car didn't come with them so I added them myself.

Best of luck.
