Engine stutttering problem but no CEL
Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed that during the climb from around 2200RMP to 2800RPM (always exact same RPM) in second gear the engine has a slight lag or stutter. However, no CEL has come on. So far it is very subtle but noticeable to me. I'm guessing that it is the MAF and/or O2 sensors. I took apart the MAF when I purchased it and gave it a little clean with some of the CRC cleaner (maybe I am the cause?). Should I just reclean or replace the MAF and O2 sensors or should I have it diagnosed, if even possible

I'd suggest checking and cleaning the MAF again. This time, with something specifically made for it. Check your filter, too. A clogged filter might hinder responsiveness.

All filters are new OEM recently replaced. I'll try to clean the MAF sensor with MAF Sensor cleaner. Is there a general rule for how much to spray onto the sensor? Should I soak it enough to actually drip? I'd assume it should not be wiped, etc. only sprayed.

I thought I was having a MAF related problem that turned out to be something else. I was having second thoughts prior to cleaning it but I didn't realize I'd F it up (which I probably did). There goes my beer money for the weekend.

How do I know which MAF I need for my '98 Boxster?
How do I know if my car is "with M620 E-Acceleraor" or "without M620 E-Acceleraor?" I am not sure with one I need for my base '98 Boxster 2.5. Also, is there a special tool needed to pull the MAF? I have star wrenches, but it appears to need some sort of hollow star wrench to pull it. Any ideas about where I can find the wrench?
