I saw the Vision Boxster in person, I did not hear it run but it looked nicely done.

On the 911. Some tracks have ridiculous noise limits. Laguna Seca has a 92db limit and even a stock GT3 will not pass. At the event this last weekend the first day there was 88 violations apparently.

About the Carrera with the "I will pass every sound check as long as the microphone is on the right side": This is the FIRST CAR EVER with 3 (!?!?!?) exhausts...

At Laguna Seca the sound meter is in a shack on the right ride of the track, so they point the mufflers to the left to beat the meter.

I should have talked to this owner. He is pointed to the right, not left.

I pitted for my Dad when I was a kid. Let me tell you, the GT1 cars of the 80's would not have passed I don't remember that shack as a young lad, when did they put it in?

Don't know when it started, guess after they started building fancy houses near the track.

People knew where the shack was, so they lifted off the gas when they passed it. People now say the sound meter is on a golf cart so it can be moved around.

The local Boxster group has been going there for about 9 years. We like to go when POC rents the track in August. POC shuts down the track at lunch time and lets street cars on the track for "lunch laps." We all have stock or nearly stock exhausts, so it is not an issue for us.
