Steering Wheel Emergency

Calling out to all Boxster Gurus...including Scott and Jeff...

Today I drove to the Birmingham Airport to pick up my girlfriend (130 miles). ON the way back, the steering wheel started to feel kind of loose, and would click back and forth when I wiggled it. By the time I got back here, I can lift the steering wheel upwards and side to side and it moves and wiggles...(and yes, the steering wheel telescoping lever is secured)...

...it feels to me like the steering wheel is coming loose. Is this possible? What can I do to fix it? Ack, this is bad timing...help!

Thanks

-Kevin
