promark,

I just ordered mine today. How did the install go for you? Anything you would do differently? I will be doing mine next week. Stay tuned.

Got my new LCD Screen today and its installed. Nice instructions from Module Master. Only $60 and I consider this an upgrade . Hopefully with the new LCD screen I will get better gas mileage LOL

Install is a Piece of cake, works great!

Oh man, am I happy I found this thread. I had considered replacing my entire climate control unit because the display was 60% shot. But then I found this thread and Module Master's replacement LCD. I ordered it; it came right away, and I installed it today.

The instructions (downloaded from their site) are excellent, with great photos. The install was a breeze -- as long as you follow the instructions carefully and exactly. Now the display is sharp and clear!!

Only a couple of clarifying notes:
1) in my '02 Boxster the first screws to be removed were not Phillips, but Torx.
2) it was a little tricky to slide the climate control unit out of the car. Mine didn't just pull out easily by hand. I had to use small pliers and urge it out millimeter by millimeter until it was freed.
3) once the unit is out and unplugged, do the rest of the work on a clear, flat, well-lighted work surface -- not in the car.

I could have gotten it a whole lot cheaper if I had gone to:
Porsche Climate Control LCD Repair Kit | eBay
(instead of 9xauto also on ebay)

But it was still a hell of a lot cheaper than a $650 complete unit.

It's a happy day for my Boxster, "Blitz!"
