MNBoxster
Can anyone get in touch with MNBoxster?
I tried to PM him but was not allowed. This does not seem right, maybe his mailbox is full. I want to talk to him about his last post regarding Tiptronic fluid.
Cheers
Mike

Sorry, MNBoxster has evaporated into cyberspace. If you still want info on the ATF try a pm to Lil Bastard. I am betting he has a wealth of information on the subject .

Brucelee may be willing to email him on your behalf through the info in the admin pages. PM and ask.
I doubt Richard (Brucelee) would give out any present or past member's information to anyone for legal and privacy reasons.
Additionally, I do believe Jim lurks here on the forum (although I don't think it's Lil Bastard because of PM's we've exchanged) under a pseudonym so he might PM you... who knows?

Thanks...I'll try those suggestions.
It's just that he has information about where this fluid is available in Canada,
which is where I am and I sure can't find it anywhere!!
Thanks all...

I believe he's posting on another site in the Boxster section. Flat6?

Sorry, not the same person, I only joined a few months back, with this screen name.
But, you're about the 5th guy who's said that, I have even gotten PMs addressed to him (even today).
Knowing how impossible it is to prove a negative, I'm not going to try and convince you or anyone.
But being at the center of a controversy is a little uncomfortable for me (and a little creepy and sad), and a little unfair - maybe to both of us. I'm just here to learn how to do some of the maintenance from you guys and save a buck since my car's warranty is long gone. I especially appreciate ToolPants and Insite's posts, they've taught me alot.
I have read a few of his posts and he seemed to more about Boxsters and cars in general than I ever will (or want to). But they're all old, nothing recent, doesn't he post here anymore? Why not? You guys accuse him of being Lil bastard or something..? lol I did copy and paste his DIY for Tiptronic fluid change and used it this spring and it worked out great.
Anyway... PEACE

I think he was pretty knowledgeable as well, but he was very opinionated, a little stuffy and full of himself, and on at least one occasion gave some advice that was (perhaps) detrimental to someone else's Boxster. (The jury's still out on that one.)
But he and Grizzly had some wonderful verbal fisticuffs. Very entertaining stuff.
For that, I miss him a bit as well.

Is now the time to reveal that yes, I AM MNBOXSTER???????????????????
Well, actually, I am not.
I don't have any address for him other than the PM box here. To my knowledge, he retains membership but we haven't heard from him in quite a while.

Yup, Grizzly. And, now that you mention it, I do sort of miss him---it's been a good while since any Griz-posts as well.
He seemed to be much more talkative when MNBoxster was still around, don't you think??
Anybody have any clue what the Adam-post is about??

1976 MGB
1972 SAAB Sonett III
1963 Chevrolet Corvette SW Coupe
1972 BMW 2002 Tii
1973 Lotus Europa Twin Cam SE
1983 Ferrari 308 GTS QV - Chassis #46425
1963 Austin Healey 3000
1970 Datsun 240Z (bought new, still own)
1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT
1985 Lotus Turbo Esprit (still own)
1968 Chevy Comaro Z/28 (Matador Red)

1948 Chrysler Windsor Coupe w/ dual quad 327 Corvette engine
1968 Lincoln Continental
1976 Toyota Celica GT Coupe
1974 Lotus Elan SE Series 4
1986 Mercury Sable
(1st one delivered in the US, this car was specially hand-built for Edsel Ford - Pres. of Lincoln/Mercury Div. It had every option for '86 and several not released until '89. He rejected the car in favor of a Lincoln Mark VII, so the Factory sold it and through a friend at FORD, I bought it)
1976 Datsun 280Z
1963 Volkwagen Beetle
1966 Ford LTD Convertible
1968 Datsun 2000 Sports Fairlady - Super Sano
1959 Triumph TR3
1966 Volkswagen Micro Bus w/ built Porsche 912 engine

1970 Ford F-100 390 4X4
1966 Alpha Romeo Duetto Spider
1978 Chevrolet Biscayne Police Special w/ 454
(this was an old Chicago PD unmarked, a real beater mechanically, which I bought at auction w/ 235000 mi. I bought a CB microphone and parked this thing all over downtown Chicago - anywhere I wanted. I just hung the microphone over the rearview mirror. It was always mistaken for a CPD unmarked and never received a ticket.)
1995 Honda Passport LX 5-Spd. 4X4
1984 Mercury Marquis (wife's car when I met her)
1995 Lincoln Continental
2004 Jaguar S-Type
1999 Porsche Boxster Tip S
1976 Lola T-342 Formula Ford Racer
(co-owned and championed w/ an old buddy)
1990 Protoform Formula Vee Racer (still own)
1968 Triumph Bonneville T120R
1968 Norton Commando Mk I 750
1939 Whizzer Model D
1967 Moto Guzzi V7
So far... - since I was 20, I've never owned fewer than 4 cars at any one time...
Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

OK - I probably fit the profile - Gray, 50+, etc. When I drive down the street in my Boxster, I guess many think I'm mid-life crisising. But...
At 17, I owned a '66 289 Mustang Fastback as my DD, and a '62 Austin Healey 'Bug Eye' Sprite as my 'Fun' car.
At 20, I owned a '68 Camaro SS396 as my DD, and a '68 912 and a '68 Buick Gran Sport Stage I as my 'Fun' cars.
At 22, I owned a '68 Lincoln Continental Convertible as my DD, and a '63 E-Type and a '72 Dodge Charger SE R/T 440 Six Pack as my 'Fun' cars.
At 25, I owned a '72 BMW 320 I as my DD, and a '69 Lotus Elan SE as my 'Fun' car.
At 27, I owned an '80 Jaguar XJ-6 as my DD, and a '70 Datsun 240Z and a '70 Lotus Europa SE John Player Special as my 'Fun' cars.
At 30, I owned a BMW 636 CSI as my DD, and a '71 Ferrari Dino 246GTS and an '80 Porsche 930 Turbo as my 'Fun' cars.
At 35, I owned a Volvo 740I as my DD and an '85 Lotus Turbo Esprit and '83 Porsche 911SC as my 'Fun' cars. In addition, I acquired a '90 Euroswift Formula Ford for Racing.
At 38, I owned a '92 Corvette ZR1 as my DD, and a Ferrari 308GTS Quattrovalvole as my 'Fun' car.
At 40, I owned a '92 Lexus SC400 as my DD, and a '56 Austin Healey BN2 100M as my 'Fun' car.
At 45, I owned a '99 Mercedes Benz CLK 430 as my DD, and a '79 Maserati Bora as my 'Fun' Car which was replaced mid-year with my '99 Porsche Boxster. Sold the Formula Ford and bought a '90 Protoform Formula VEE racer.
Now, at 54, I own an '06 Jaguar S-Type Sport 4.0 as my DD, plus my '99 Boxster and Formula VEE as my 'Fun' cars.
So while people may see me drive by in my Boxster and type-cast me as a mid-life crisis, they have absolutely no idea how totally WRONG they are.
That's OK with me. I have always owned the cars I loved with no regard to what others may think...
PS - This probably belongs in the What cars have you owned thread, but I list it here to make a point.
( Jim - I could really care less who you are or are not, I just HATE liars ! )
Nick

Unfortunately, it's my understanding that Griz suffered a physical injury that took him out for a while. I hope he rejoins us later, he was a good guy. He was sending me updates on a restoration project he was undertaking, but I haven't heard from him in a while. I'll ping him in the next couple of days to see what's he's up to.
