anybody install the OEM iPod kit?

I know many folks would never consider the Porsche OEM iPod integration kit (997-044-901-70) because it uses an FM modulator, but I went for it.

Purchased the kit from Sunset for about $300. Problem is it didn't come with any instructions.

Most of the kit's pieces look straightforward to install in the center console, but I can't figure where the power leads should plug into, and where the FM modulator is supposed to mount.

Has anyone done the installation yet? Or seen a set of instructions?

I'm guessing it was meant to be installed by the dealer, so I'm asking the guys at Sunset to round up instructions. Worse case I'll go to my local dealer to see if they'll share the documentation.

Would be a good writeup for the DYI forum.

thanks,
Dennis

photos?

You think you could photograph the kit and upload it?

I installed my own system (which is actually how I found these boards... searching for instructions).

I asked for instructions before I bought it from Sunset. They sent instructions for the Cayenne and said, "the boxster install is similar". They were not that clear to me but at least its something. I can send you the PDF they sent me when I get home. Send me a PM

Regards,
Alan

Have they still not addressed this MOS issue with the 987 stereo?

I purchased a second hand Iphone Thursday (unlocked it for T-mobile).
I go to plug it into my Boxster's aux jack and the bastards at Apple changed the headphone jack size! Had to make a trip to Radio Shack to buy the $10 adapter.
Paid $300 for the Iphone and have spent almost another $100 in accessories (car charger $20, case and 3m cover (case mate) $40, extra docking cradle and charger $40. This is why I have avoided Apple for the last few years.
Battery issues aside, Iphone is pretty freakin cool though

That's maybe the jack for a cell phone earpiece and speaker? The headphone jack on my iPod touch is nothing out of the ordinary.
