Microphone

Hi All,

Anyone know who makes the Microphone that goes right next to the instrumental cluster? What is the Porsche Part Number?

I am looking at replacing the mic that came with my Pioneer Avic F90BT and figured I might as well get one that was designed for the Boxster.

Thanks,
James

Is that part number for the grill, or the mic?

I always thought you could just glue any mic that would fit, in there. And if you do go with an aftermarket mic, make sure it is very directional or you will pick up a lot of background noise.

Think its possible to get a mike so directional that it could work with a cellphone...with the top down? Brands? models?

Regards, PK

I don't know specific brands or models, but I am sure you could find a small, "shotgun," mic that would fit. A shotgun mic picks up sound almost exclusively in the direction it is pointed, which would be great for top down driving.

the part number I gave is for the cover which has a mic attached to it. Comes from a 996.
