Funny sound..

Wondering if anyone is familiar with ths sound.
When I have the car a low gear and I lift off the throttle I hear a ruffling sound coming from the pasener side of the engine. The minute I get back on the gas I can't hear it anymore or maybe the engine covers it up.
The sound is familiar to blowing on a sheet of paper along the edge.
There' also a hissing sound but it doesn't seem to be coming from the same area. But also audible when the car is going slow.
Bad MAF or 02 sensors? gulp...I hope that's all it is...

Garage
Does it sound like a coin rattling around in the engine compartment?

Not to scare you but ....

I read this thread: My Warranty Direct experience after IMS failure

after I read yours, and could not help but wonder if the sounds were similar ....

I certainly hope not, but perhaps you could get the OP of the other to give more of a description ....

No I wouldn't call it a rattle at all. Nothing "metallic" in nature. The hissing sound is like a weezing sound. The passenger side noise is simply a funny intake sound.

PL, there is no air intake on the passanger side. That vent is for the engine bay cooling.

But the air filter is on that side...right? When was the filter last changed?

Did you access the engine area, look around and take a listen?

yeah I changed the air filter last summer. I also cleaned the MAF with that spray cleaner. The hiss/weezing sound is coming from the intake side, ruffling is coming from the exhaust side. I'll take a look I wonder if maybe a leaft is in there.
