I think the comment somebody made that people who are experiencing problems are more likely to write is probably true. And I realize that anecedotal information is no basis for broad conclusions. All that said,

I've had my Boxster for over a year now, put 11,000 miles on it and have had zero (that's zip, nil, nada) in the way of problems. I had a PPI and just had the 30K service and nothing wrong showed up. So I'm doin' the Happy Dance.

Thank you very much, Brucelee. With Perfectlap's guidance, I happily spent many hours working over the finish, and I've always been partial to speed yellow. I was glad when the mechanic who did the PPI had such great things to say about it, because it Called To Me.

Garage
JCL12,

Storage? Porsche gets it for not using an upright four banger with a transverse transmission or a front mount upright four banger with a rear axle . Their mid mounted horizontally opposed flat six with a transaxle is so shallow that they can utilize the extra space above them for trunk and top storage. The drive-train is no taller than the top of your rear tires.
