Speedster Humps for Sale on Ebay--How do you tell if OEM?

Seller doesn't know. What determines if they are OEM or aftermarket?

Thanks!

It depends on the aftermarket manufacture, but the OEM ones mount using the hardtop spin locks, and some aftermarket ones do not. And if you talking about the while/seal grey ones I already asked, and he doesn't know.

Boxster Humps

Yes, they are the seal/white & I asked him as well. Wonder if the OEM's have a PN on them?

Yes, OEM will have a Porsche part number stamped on the underside. Porsche OEM are plastic and I believe that all of the aftermarket humps are fiberglass. You can tell real easily this way. On the inside/bottom of the humps the Porsche OEM will be smooth plastic. The aftermarket humps are fiberglass and are only finished on the outside surface to be smooth, underneath it's just unfinished (maybe painted black though) fiberglass. It should have a very rough fiberglass surface underneath. Spin locks are also expensive, so I don't know of any of the aftermarket humps that use them.

Personally I think it should be VERY easy to tell. Simply turn them over, verify they're plastic, and look for the Porsche part number stamped into the plastic.

Here's a picture the seller sent me of the humps I bought last year. I bought them face-to-face, but had him send me photos first. From this photo I could tell they were OEM.

My first guess would be "if he doesn't know, they are not OEM". Funny how the "I'm not sure" can be used to disguise the truth.

I got mine from Vertex and they do have the spinlocks with them. They are fiberglass but pretty high quality. They have them made by a company in FL.
