I couldn't find the thread where the question was already answered so forgive me for asking again:

Will these tires fit on my stock 17" rims?
255/40/17
275/40/17

255/40/17 is the size I have on my rear rims. So those should work. The 275/40/17 may be too big.

Check with Tirerack to be sure but it sounds like too much tire for the stock rim width. If I recall correctly 225 is the widest recommended size for a stock front rim. When you go larger the sidewall just starts to roll over and you don't get any benefit.

i have 255s on a 9.5 wide wheel up front... its stretched a bit. i would say that it would work on an 8" or wider wheel.
