I have a '99 that I just dumped alot of money into upgrading just because I wanted a different look. Not to hide anything. Now its for sale, two weeks after the last finishing touch. Maybe the previous owner was the same, and just traded it in for something else. I spoke to my cousin who is a finance manager for many high end dealerships, and asked him what I could expect to get in this volitile car market. He told me a 99 with my miliage (55,000) in the perfect condition with all my additions ( read sig) would only fetch $9500.00. I almost threw up!!! I dont know whats up with Boxster resale, but we sure are getting screwed!!! This market is worse than the 944 resale value. By the way, VT is not that far from N.Y. is you are interested in a nicer Box than that one with half the miles.

That 98 Box looks nice. My 98 Box is my weekend car and my 1st toy I have put close to $4000.00 in basic repairs...brakes, rotors, total engine and fluid workover(1600) struts, sway brace links etc. I enjoyed every minute of the work, and I did all of it myself except the engine stuff. Did I mention I have 107,000 on my Box and it will run with the best of them and even as stock as it can get...I get more people staring at me with the top down. Make a great educated decision, join the club, but when I do it again...and I will, I will go 03 or higher and make it an S!

Wink

I bought a 1998 last August. Had 47K on it. If you look around more there is no need to buy such a high mileage car. I would be more patience. Remember 'good things come to those who wait'. BTW my car was and still is in immaculate condition with one owner and all the maintennance records intact. So good cars are out there you just have to look some more. Good Luck.
