Exactly, you are massively increasing stress on the hub, while essentially adding a thick spacer. You would need to get the correct offset specs for the wheel sizes you want to run, then factor in the thickness of the spacer. Get out your slide rule and start doing the math. You will also have 10 lugs per wheel now!

Porsche purposefully runs a very uncommon 5x130 bolt pattern for exactly this reason- they don't want you putting cheap, made in Taiwan wheels on their German engineered piece of machinery.

If you don't want to purchase quality wheels that fit right, keep your stockers.

It is only going to be expensive if you are going up in size. and even then it does not have to be super expensive. wWheels or search ebay. there are several manufactures that makes quality wheels cheaper.
