I had to get a whole new key head under my warrenty luckily, it was $293 and came with the white paper with the seriel # on it.

Thank goodness for your warranty. To get a spare key for my boxster, I paid about that for the key head and metal bit and programming... it's a pile of money for a key, that's for sure.

Mine is under warranty, I was just hoping to avoid the hassle of going to the dealership if I can restore operation myself. I don't know why, but it seems that every time I take a car, any car, to the dealer they fix what you took it there for and something else is wrong when you pick it up again.
