The Lost Colors: The Seventies
Our current palette looks positively boring compared with the bright colors of these 911's! Take a look and enjoy imagining what some of them would look like on a Boxster.
Pictures are from the site "early911s.com" (many more colors to look at there, too).
Enjoy! If you could pick one for your 986, what would it be?

Colors
Hard to say, but if I had to choose one of those colors shown in your pictures, I'd probably go for the yellow or the orange. Still, I am happy with the current choices and my arctic silver.

Do you want to email the picture to me and I'll try to put it up? I've curious what color/car you've got!

Being a Gemini and liking Blue colors in general, I'd love to order my next Porsche with paint to sample Gemini Metallic Blue

Blues rule!!!
Gemini Metallic is cool. However, I tend to like the modern colors:
Lapis, Ocean, Midnight, ......
Kind of Blue!

Check out my Gemini Blue simulation, Brian! I finished up a Photoshop mask for this photo, and I can take requests!

That color looks great on the Boxster. While I like the darker blues, I do miss the light shades which are much lower maintenance to keep shiny (plus hide those little chips on the nose so much easier).
I saw a light blue/silver color 996 in Stuttgart in July that was a paint to sample based on an older Porsche color. It reminded me of the blue/silver that VW uses on the Passat and Audi on the A6. It looked different in every light.
Oh well, paint will have to wait as my winter projects for the 98 Boxster will most likely include ROW 030 suspension modifications and 3.4 engine swap (50/50 chance at this point).
