Cayman to Boxster side vents - parts needed?

I know there are some out there who have done it - what exactly is needed, other than the vents? After looking at some drawings it appears that I just need the innner Cayman frames and maybe the clips - right?

I know Eric at Bumper Plugs sells a retrofit kit but if all I need are the Cayman frames I can get those from another guy.

Bob, you should get the kit from BumperPlugs, excellent quality & service, then send them to your dealership, and ask them to do the swap. Talk to your salesguy, and maybe they won't charge you.

That's how I did mine (painted vents, not the Cayman swap). They charged me $20!

.
I just did this to my 2007 Boxster. The inner frames and the vents themselves are all you need. The clips currently holding the frame can be used with the Cayman frames. Looks much better (triple black).

Porsche made the painted side vents a factory option for the 2008 MY (maybe 2007 too). It costs $1,245 (code DAG). Wow! They also include the 2 front air inlets. Still, mine only cost about $175 from BumperPlugs.

$175 from Bumper Plugs? It looks like they are $289 including the core charge.

Thats what I paid last week. I asked Eric about these $175 prices that I've seen on these sites and he said he never sold them for that price.

My error. I paid $275 in 2005. And here I thought that I was not going to make any errors in 2008!
