Cadmium plated or not?

I just got my cross drilled rotors in from an eBay seller who will receive accolades for good customer service or be blacklisted (hopefully) by many here, depending on the answers to the questions below and how the seller handles the issue (if any issue exists)...

I have a couple of questions:

1) Are the front and rear rotors for a 97 the same size? If so, can anyone tell me what the correct size should be? (Boxster is home, I am at work!)

2) The top rotors in the pic are very shiny and bluish silver. The bottom rotors are yellowed a bit and even look a little rusty around the holes. I paid for cadmium plating on all four. Did they send me two non-plated rotors in your opinion?

From the photo it looks as if you received four cad plated rotors. Cad will fade and turn a bit yellow over time so perhaps the faded rotors have been on the shelf longer.

Send a message via MSN to CJ_Boxster
The Hat on the rear rotors should be larger to acommidate the E-brake assembly

Hey Randall,
The Porsche Workshop Manual says:
Brake disc diameter-
Front: 298mm
Rear: 292 mm

But then they add...
Effective brake disc diameter:
Front: 250mm
Rear: 240.6mm

Brake drum diameter is 164mm.

Get out your measuring tape.

Derb, one set of disks looks like it's a 1/4 inch larger in diameter than the others, so those must be the fronts.

The same slightly larger set are also wider by 1/8 of an inch. The cooling fins or support between the discs (front and back) are also a different design.

Since I haven't taken the old ones off to compare diameters and widths, I'm going to assume they are correct.

I'll get my mm ruler out tomorrow and check them. Thanks for the numbers!
